Art Exhibition and Music Ensemble

Olive Ridge School hosted its first Annual Art Exhibition and Music Ensemble on 30 September 2021 in the newly built multi-functional centre on the school premises.

Learners from the Junior-Preparatory Phase exhibited their artworks in the reception for parents and guests to look at for two days prior to the Art Exhibition and Music Ensemble event, that took place on the last evening before the school closed for the holiday.

The theme of the Exhibition this year, Discover the World through Art, was led by Ms Mandie von Maltitz.  She is a well-known artist and teacher who has an immense passion for teaching the fine arts to students of all ages.  The learners impressed parents and guests alike with their artistic expression of “Tall Ships”, “Underwater Creatures”, “Tourist Summer Bus”, “Self-Awareness”, “Flying Objects”, “Butterflies and Birds”, and many more themes.  They were not only taught how to mix the most wonderful colours, but also to experience animals in nature and the clever architecture of patterns and shapes in man-made things.  The main event was ended by a music ensemble, led by Skye Klopper.  She is a well-known musician from Bloemfontein.  The students demonstrated that not only can they express themselves through the Fine Arts, but that their voices are a force to be reckoned with.  What a way to end the third term.

Congratulations to each student who participated in this year’s Art Exhibition and Music Ensemble.  We look forward to the next one!
