ORS Vacancy: Head of School / Principal

Olive Ridge School is an independent school in Bloemfontein, Free State. This school is not an ordinary school and is thus looking for an experienced, passionate individual to join our leadership team. Olive Ridge School offers innovative, forward-thinking education to children from 18 months to Grade 12. We use a cross-curricular, multi-lingual approach to education where the blended Cambridge- and CAPS Curricula is enhanced by the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) model.

  • Qualification in education, educational leadership, administration, or a related field.
  • Valid SACE certification.
  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive school culture and climate.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and using data to drive decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of educational laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Understanding of budget management and resource allocation.
  • Familiarity with technology integration in education.
  • Visionary leadership with a commitment to student achievement and staff development.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, parents, and the community.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle various challenges in the school environment.
  • A commitment to staying current with educational best practices and research.
  • Experience with diverse student population and commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Evidence of successful school improvement initiatives or programs.
  • Deadline driven would be advantageous.
  • A valid sexual offender’s clearance certificate.
